Johnathan's Cupboard is proud to bring to Appleton, cooking classes with Chef Lindsay Brooks. We offer a variety of cooking classes for the beginner, as well as the seasoned cook. Check out our schedule of classes!

Practical Cooking Classes: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. $25 or $40 per couple
Culinary Enhancement Classes: 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. $60 or $110 per couple

Meet Our Chefs

Chef Lindsay Brooks studied culinary arts at the prestigious Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. From ambitious beginnings making fresh chocolates and gelato for some of Chicago's best cafes, she has continued to sharpen her skills with the absolute finest restaurants and caterers in the Green Bay and Fox Valley area. Her pastries have graced the tables of Hinterland, Chives, Bouchee Catering, and The Seasons. She has prepared desserts for President George W. Bush, and members of foreign governments and royalty. Her approach to the culinary arts is fun and inviting, and her recipes and techniques are approachable for cooks of all skill levels. Chef Lindsay uses only the finest, freshest ingredients and takes great pride in supporting locally grown food.

Nancy Matchen obtained her Grand diploma in Classic French technique at the French Culinary Institute, New York City. She studied under Jacques Pepin, renowned culinary teacher, writer, food consultant; Andre Soltner, Executive Chef/Owner of Lutece; and Alain Sailhac, Executive Chef of Le Cirque. While a student at FCI, Nancy worked as a line cook at L’Ecole Restaurant, and trailed at Aquavit with Marcus Samuelsson, and at Café Meze. She began her career as a Party Chef for Abigail Kirsch, the premiere NYC catering company, at their venues at Tappan Hill, The New York Botanical Gardens, and the Pratt Mansion, New York City, She also served as a Party Chef at Patricia Blake Catering, Greenwich, CT.

Janis Bowers is a healthy eating expert who provides a weekly menu plan for Dinner Spin members (www.thedinnerspin.com) and is the author of a new cookbook, Simple, Everyday Favorites. Her nutritious recipes, clever tips and timesaving tricks are intended to motivate life-long healthy eating habits. She develops each creative yet simple recipe with her own wholesome spin. Janis has been featured on local and regional television news and lifestyle shows, regional and national print and is an expert contributor for many online sources including TodaysMama.com.
